This Privacy Policy explains how BodyScope (the “App”) handles your information. We designed BodyScope to respect your privacy by default. The App focuses on local, user‑controlled data with optional sync and integrations you can turn on or off at any time.
1. What Information We Collect
We only collect information necessary to provide the App’s core features. Categories include:
- Measurement data
- Body part (e.g., waist, hip, chest, arm, thigh, calf, wrist, neck, or custom)
- Measurement values and units (cm/in)
- Timestamps
- Optional notes you add
- Health app data (optional)
- If you choose to connect to Apple’s Health app, the App may read and/or write supported measurement data. You control these permissions.
- Device permissions you grant (optional)
- Photos: to save/share a summary image that you create in the App.
- Notifications: to send measurement reminders you enable.
We do not collect account information, nor do we use third‑party advertising or analytics SDKs.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve core App functions (recording, visualizing, and reviewing measurements)
- Sync your data across your devices via iCloud if enabled
- Share a summary image when you choose to do so
- Send reminders if you enable notifications
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Where Your Data Lives
- On your device
- Your measurements are stored locally on your device by default.
- iCloud (optional)
- If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your iCloud account and kept up to date across your devices signed in with the same Apple ID.
- Health app (optional)
- If you grant access, your measurements may be read from and/or written to the Health app. You can change these permissions at any time in the Health app.
- Photos (optional)
- If you choose to save a share image, it is written to your Photos library with your permission.
4. Your Choices and Controls
- Units
- Switch between centimeters (cm) and inches (in) in Settings.
- Permissions
- Health: grant or revoke access in the Health app at any time.
- Photos: grant or revoke in iOS Settings > Privacy > Photos.
- Notifications: manage in iOS Settings > Notifications and in the App’s Settings.
- Export and import
- Use the App’s Data options to export your data and, where supported, import a backup.
